To prepare, you’ll need caster sugar, unsalted butter, black treacle, syrup, and white flour. You’ll also need some ground ginger, mixed spice, cinnamon, milk and bicarbonate of soda. To decorate, you need icing sugar and different shades of food color.
Start by preheating the oven to approximately 170 degrees centigrade. Next, put the salted butter, syrup, and caster sugar in a bowl and heat. After melting, let it cool. Mix the flour, spice, mixture and all other ingredients while stirring until thick. Then, add bicarbonate of soda and milk. Put in the fridge for thirty minutes.
Roll the dough and dust with dry flour. Next, cut into different shapes and place in your baking tin. Allow baking for 15 minutes. After that, remove and allow to coll. Mix the icing sugar, add some food color, and decorate. When dry, serve for breakfast. Your kid can also share it with friends in the afternoon.
